My Life as a Bush - Review

Loved how John told his story as an impersonator of George Bush and paralleled it to knowing Christ. This book could be given to a person and it would not be too preachy, but yet it tells it like it is. Would you stand up for something you believe in when its time to take sides?

Home Run is a story about Cory Brand who wanted to play for the majors as a baseball player but his life is a disaster.  When he left home to become a baseball player he left behind an acholic father and a pregent girlfriend.  Ten years later he returns to his hometown and trys to pick up the pieces to his life.

 This was a wonderfully written story of showing the need for God is ALL areas of your life. It will take a grip on your soul and you will not want to put this one down. I can't wait for the movie to come out.

The Christian Alphabet Book - Review

The Christian Alphabet Book: Teaching Children about Jesus, Prayer, and the Bible guides you with Christian words and visuals from A to Z by Tracy Sands is a  wonderful book for children.  The visuals are beautiful and will catch a child’s eye in a moment.   Just one of the many ways of teaching is a search and find method.  My grandson who is three has enjoyed picking out a letter on the cover and then we go and find what it stands for and we read that section. We have gone through the book this way and I am impressed with his knowledge.

Tracy Sands is the author of this book and shows us a different way to teach the Christian ABC’s.  Although I have always heard ABC as Admit, Believe, and Confess,  as long as the meaning gets across ABC can stand for different aspects of the Christian Life.   I like the fresh approach of A-Z standing for a different aspect of Christianity life.

There are two pages each devoted to one letter.  There are many bible verses that aren given so you can go and look up the verse for yourself and see how it pertains to that particular alphabet letter.  There is a prayer at the end of each letter.  There is also a CD with songs and music to go along with the book.  

I think this book is perfet for children three through six.
