Firewall - Review

After a whirlwind romance, Taryn Young is preparing to board a plane at Houston International Airport, bound for a dream honeymoon, when a bomb decimates the terminal. Injured but still alive, she awakens to discover her husband is missing and they're both considered prime suspects in the attack.  Further, the FBI is convinced her husband isn't who he appears to be.  Agent Grayson Hall's number-one priority is to catch those responsible for the day's act of terror.  All evidence is pointing to Taryn and her new husband but his instinct tells him her pleas of innocence are genuine.  Is her naiveté just for show, or could she truly be another victim of a master scheme, possibly linked to the software she recently developed for her company?  With both their lives and reputations on the line, and the media outcry for justice increasing with each passing minute, Taryn and Grayson have no choice but to trust one another and pray they can uncover the truth before they become two more casualties.

My thoughts:

DiAnn creates a scary and suspenseful plot in this book.  She uses so many different colors in creating this novel.  It was a book that I could not put down until the last word was read so it made for a long day at work the next day.  I found myself connecting with Taryn and wondering what would I do in her situation.  I found a hero in Grayson and fell in love with his tenderness towards Taryn and the situation.  Where are guys like that today?
Firewall is the first in DiAnn Mills new FBI: Houston series.

Angel Walking.

What if there really were Angels walking among us?  What if we knew who they were?  Would we stop and give them any more time than other people?

Tyler was fixing to have it all until tragedy struck. Will he lose everytning or will he realize before its too late that God is there waiting to help in all of his trials.

Sometimes it does take something drastic happening before we realize that God is always, most of the time, caring us through.

Karen Kingsbury shows the love of Christ in all of her stories.  Can't wait to see what she will come up with next.

A Stitch in Crime - Review

About Quilts of Love: Quilts tell stories of love and loss, hope and faith, tradition and new beginnings. The Quilts of Love series focuses on the women who quilted all of these things into their family histories. A new book releases each month and features contemporary and historical romances as well as women's fiction and the occasional light mystery. You will be drawn into the endearing characters of this series and be touched by their stories.

About the book:

Thea's first quilt show is coming apart at the seams!
Thea James has accepted an assignment as co-chairperson for Larkindale's first quilt show extravaganza. Juggling the new assignment with running her antique business, she's already feeling frayed when things start to unravel.
Mary-Alice Wentworth, a much-loved town matriarch, respected quilt judge, and Thea's dear friend, is covertly conked on the head during the kick-off Quilt Show Soiree, throwing suspicion on her guests. It also appears that a valuable diamond brooch has been stolen during the attack. The family is furious. But is it because of their mugged mother or the missing diamonds?
When a renowned textile expert goes MIA and the famous Wentworth heritage quilt disappears, Larkindale's reputation as a tourist haven is at risk. Thea attempts to piece the mystery together and save the town's investment in the quilt show before Mary-Alice is attacked again . . . with far worse results.

Learn more about this book and the series at the Quilts of Love website.

About the Author:

Author and speaker Cathy Elliot nourishes her night-owl habit by creating cozy mysteries and more on her trusty laptop in Anderson, California. Like the protagonist in her new mystery, Cathy is an avid quilter. Besides collecting (too much) cool fabric, she also enjoys hunting for antique treasures.

My thoughts:

This was the first book by Cathy Elliott I have read and I really enjoyed it.  It was a great "whodunit" that kept me hooked and guessing from the first page until the last.  The characters were very likeable and interesting.  Cathy wove the Biblical message throughout  this story.
Another great book from the "Quilts of Love" series.

I received this book for free from Litfuse, Net Galley Publicity, and Abingdon Press in exchange for an honest review. The response is entirely my own.
