A Marriage in Middlebury

A Marriage in Middlebury by Anita Higman has everyone in Middlebury falling in love. Charlotte Rose Hill and Sam Wilder have known each other for a long time. Their hearts were broken many years ago and now Sam is back in Middlebury, Texas with his fiancée. Can Charlotte forget about the past or is it destined for her to watch the past run into the present?

The book about a small town has charm that only a small town brings. I have enjoyed every one of Anita’s books and this one was no acceptation. This book has several different romances in this one wonderful story. Could there be a sequel on the other couples?
I was provided a copy by TBCN and Anita Higman in exchange for my honest review.

Abigail's New Hope - review

Abigail’s New Hope is the first book in Mary Ellis’s new series called, The Wayne County Series.

Here you will meet Abigail Graber who is a wonderful midwife, wife, and mother.  As this story begins she helps Dr. Weller as a midwife.  When she is called by a man saying his wife is in labor and has never seen a doctor she willingly goes to help.  When she gets there things suddenly makes a turn for the worse.   Will the profession that she fills is a God given profession led her to trouble?  During her time of trial will she learn what God is telling her?

Catherine is a sister of Abigail’s that is willingly to help in any way she can during a very difficult time.  While she cares for Laura and Jake and her brother-in-law, Daniel, she becomes friends with Isaac, a cousin of Daniel’s.  Will she find a friendship that could turn into something else?

Isaac helps Daniel with the farm but is a recluse.  He is deaf and people are not very friendly to him.  Can Catherine help him to find a life that is becoming to everyone?

Just to say I enjoyed this story isn’t enough.  I thought this book was great.  Abigail’s New Hope deals with some very hard issues.  It also shows you that if you rely and listen to God everything works out.  That is really hard for me even though I firmly believe it.  Even though I enjoyed all of the characters, I fell in love is Isaac.  I am a sign language teacher and he made me want to be in this story and help on him.

This isn’t the first book that I have ready my Mary Ellis and it definitely won’t be the last.  Can’t wait for the second book in this series to find out what happens next.
